Anand Reddy, MD, MRCP (UK) Dr. Reddy is a leading physician-scientist in the field of Nephrology. He was born and educated in Bangalore, India. Dr. Reddy completed his medical schooling from Bangalore Medical College, consistently ranked among the top 10 medical schools in India. Dr. Reddy moved to the United Kingdom to pursue his ambition of specializing in Internal Medicine at the Prestigious Princess Royal University hospital, a King's college affiliate, London. During this period, Dr. Reddy was actively involved in academic and scholarly activities; most importantly he obtained the diploma from the Royal College of Physicians – MRCP (UK) (Member of Royal college of Physicians) which is the oldest and most respected medical diplomas in the world . After three years of practicing Internal Medicine in UK, he migrated to USA to further his medical experience and capabilities. Dr. Reddy started as a Physician Scientist at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis which is one of the top medical schools in the world. He was involved in ground breaking research in Cardiology and successfully published the paper on ‘Non linear Heart rate variability and risk stratification in cardiovascular disease’. Dr. Reddy further pursued his academic and research interests in Internal Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University (Metrohealth Medical Center) which is one among the top 20 medical schools in the country. In recognition of his excellent patient care and physician capabilities, he was awarded the "Best Resident Physician for the year 2007-2008"and also awarded the "Best Physician Teacher of the year 2007-2008".He obtained the diplomat of American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Reddy is one of the handful Physicians selected to specialize in Nephrology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York), a world renowned institution for patients renal care and ground breaking research on Kidney diseases. Mount Sinai Renal department also prides itself for being the first center in the country to provide dialysis for end stage kidney diseases. During his fellowship, he identified a rare case of fragmented dialysis catheter in a young patient’s Heart. He compiled a case report on the same which was accepted for publication in prestigious 'Seminars in Dialysis' journal. He is involved in cutting edge basic science research on Kidney fibrosis, a common denominator of all kidney diseases. He has co-authored many publications, mainly a chapter on "Management of Hospitalized Patients with ESRD" in the textbook for hospitalists. Dr. Reddy is an active member of numerous prestigious professional organizations like Royal College of Physicians, UK; American Society of Nephrology; American Society of Transplantation; National Kidney Foundation; American Medical Association and American College of Physicians.
